POWER LOOMS:-

WHAT IS  POWER LOOM:-
A power loomis  mechnised loom and was one the kay developments in the industrialisation of weaving during early industrial revolution. The first power loom was designed in 1785 by Edmund Cartwright and first built that same year. It was refined over the next 47 years , untill a design by then the Howard and Bullough Company made the operation completely automatic. This device was designed in 1834 by James Bullough and William Ken Worthy, and was named Lancashire loom.

By the year 1850 , there were a total of around 2,60,000 power loom operation in England. Two years later came the Northrop loom, which replenished the shuttle when it was empty. This replaced the Lancashire loom.
There are different types of loom is functioning in textile industries. They commonly known as shuttle loom, shuttle less loom, and automatic looms. In automatic loom there are different types, they are air-jet, water-jet, Sulzer shuttle less, projectile (missile) and rapier looms. Their detail description and working will come later.
