BASIC OF HANDLOOM:-

A handloom is a weaving machine commonly used to weave a fabric (textile) and operated manually. The handloom sector plays a very important role in the economy of country. It is one of the largest economic activities providing direct employment to over 65 to 70 lakhs persons.
Handlooms are the basic equipment for hand weaving. Hand weaving is precise manual weaving technique and the motion of the handloom(vertical or horizontal) is operated by a skilled human, with the help of his feet and hands, without any source of energy like electicity.
A simple loom which , its roots in ancient civilizations comprising wooden bars between which the warp is stretched.
Types of Handlooms:-
A loom is a machine or device which is used to produce the woven fabrics. It is the central point of the whole process of cloth produced. In other words , a loom is a mechanism or tool used for weaving yarn and threads in wide assortment of size. They come in huge free standing handlooms tiny automatical tools.

MANUAL/HANDLOOMS:-
It can be described as
PRIMITIVE OR VERTICAL LOOM.
PIT LOOM:- (a) Throw shuttle. (b) Fly shuttle.
FRAME LOOM:- (a) Throw shuttle (b) Fly shuttle .
CHITRANJAN LOOM.
HATTERSLEY LOOM.
HADDLE LOOM.
PRIMITIVE OR VERTICAL LOOMS:-
A primitive loom is generally by sinking the frame into the ground and the weaver works inside the pit by both feet . The frame work is of bamboo . This loom had been known to be in use in 5000 to 6000 B.C. This loom is still in used for weaving silk piece, silk shirting , sarees and muslin etc. by derivative weaves.

FEATURES:-
1. This type of loom is used for finer yarn.
2. This loom has to be known to use in 6000 year B.C.
3. This is a throw shuttle loom.
4. Made of wood or metal .
ADVANTAGES:-
a) The first fabric is produced.
b) By skilled weaver , we can get a very good quality of fabric.
c) Set up cost is very low.
d) It can work with dobby and jacquard attachment which can be mounted over it or by side.
DISADVANTAGES:-
a) Slay is suspended from the top and its actions is very weak. using a compact or heavy cloth.
b) Warp threads are drawn directly from the warp beam.
c) It accommodative a small can weft.
